Jesus Turns VIP on its Head
Here’s a true story from Jesus’ life. It was recorded in Mark 9.33-37
The Greatest in the KingdomAfter they arrived at Capernaum and settled in a house, Jesus asked his disciples, “What were you discussing out on the road?” But they didn’t answer, because they had been arguing about which of them was the greatest.
He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said, “Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.”
Then he put a little child among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes not only me but also my Father who sent me.”
What do you think?
- Is there something in the story that gets you thinking of something you’ve noticed about people? Or about God?
- Good. Is there a specific thing you’d like to:
- Do because of what you’ve read, or
- Mull over , or
- Share with a friend?
I’m asking, because when we try to line up our lives with Jesus He blesses us. So, would you like to do something?
This is the best ever
Keep thinking about this story for the rest of the day. Tomorrow open the app again and read some more.
